Meeting/Events/Shows
Bath Classic Motorcycle Club meets on a regular basis at a variety of hostelries around the Bath area for a sociable glass of something and a chat, whilst comparing the amount of polish/dirt/rust or not playing ‘spot the incorrect washer’ on our classic steeds. Road Run – 29th Dec 2024 (TBC)- Imber Run
Date/start/lunch/finish to be confirmed.
A gentle morning ramble round a few tarmac roads and then a gentle ramble along some rough gravelly, muddy roads across the plain. I generally do this on my Road going 1949 AJS 16m so not desperately bad terrain . We lunch at a pub somewhere and then in the afternoon I and most other sensible people head home by tarmac, while the rest of the bunch go and play in the mud and water on the plain and get totally plastered in mud etc Meet at County Hall/Library Car Park Bythesea Rd Trowbridge BA14 0BE. 10am meet for 10.30 depart. Contact Don 07548 100556. Note - Roads to Imber Village are only open limited times which are published by the SPTA (Salisbury Plain Training Area) and will be published nearer Christmas but basically if the red flags are up and the barriers are across the tracks DO NOT ATTEMPT IT!
Road Run – Oct ??? 2024 (TBC) – Frozen Chicken Run
Date/start/lunch/finish to be confirmed.
A gentle run in support of the Air Ambulance; through the peaceful & quiet freezing autumn countryside, wending up and down ever narrower leaf lined muddy, dusty and potholed lanes. Gently brushing aside the frosted undergrowth, crossing the odd (frozen?) water feature and trying to avoid them not to mention the odd slimy deposits from local fauna (and tractors) you may even at times wonder what the hell possessed you to sign on!This is specifically aimed at the smaller and slower (?) machinery we maintain, with the idea being no more than 350cc unless side valve or particularly old machinery. As this is a charity run and we are only interested in raising money for the air ambo, we do of course welcome modern bikes too, whilst mentioning the route may not necessarily be suited to, umm, 'bypass' tyres or pristine machinery. Entry is £5 all of which is donated to the Air Ambulance. Meet & sign on location TBA Sign on from 10am, run starts approx 10.30. This run was originally started predominantly for small cc bikes (less than 250cc) utilising back roads and small lanes for those who don't mind life being a bit exciting with countryside detritus on narrow twisty lanes, however we have been allowing some bigger bikes more recently with the organisers permission of course
